A Nice Surprise..

Posted on May 3, 2010 with 0 comments
I was very surprised to receive a note informing me that I was currently at #1 in the Lilith Fair Contest on OurStage.com.
Wowee! I usually don't enter contests because it seems like it's always based on popularity instead of the quality of music but because I love the concept of Lilith Fair I had to enter. But then I forgot that I entered. And now I was reminded  :)) If you do care to vote, it's kind of a fun process. The best way is to vote head-to-head (you need to REGISTER first) and it will take you through all the songs that are entered in the competition, which ends May 23rd. Go here:

Hello friends,
Just a quick note to let you know I'm back in L.A. Ben and I drove across the country (from Nashville) in 3 days! In two separate cars. And not ONCE did I fall asleep. Yes, I was truly a road warrior and did not give in to my narcoleptic tendencies (which I have been known to do- check out the song "Life is Strange" by my alter ego band Lovers and Poets- it's an autobiographical tune about a spill I took in South Park, CO where I flipped my car over the edge of a small mountain and somehow survived).
The day after getting settled into our new apartment I recorded keyboard parts for Michelle Carter-Leis's new album at Michael Woodrum's studio. Keep an eye out for this talented Canadian chanteuse. I promise you, good things are on the horizon for her!
This has been a challenging year for me, with the loss of my grandmother and my mother within three months of each other. I really appreciate all the support from friends [...]
